Patrick Sheahan Named VP of Institutional Advancement

Columbia College welcomes civic and business leader Patrick Sheahan, Ph.D., as the new vice president of Institutional Advancement. Sheahan will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive advancement strategy for strengthening annual fund growth, alumni participation and capital campaign strategies. He will also serve as strategic partner to the president in the areas of Board development, external relations, civic engagement and institutional messaging.
“My conversations with Patrick have made it clear that he is powerfully drawn to the mission and values of our institution. He also has a proven ability to engage diverse teams in working for the greater good,” said Columbia College President and CEO Kwang-Wu Kim, D.M.A., in making the announcement.
Sheahan comes to Columbia College from UBS Americas, where he served as head of community affairs and corporate social responsibility. He is a long-time integral player in Chicago’s corporate, political and civic scenes, having sat on numerous boards and committees.
