The Big Read Seeks Volunteers
February 5, 2013
The Columbia College Chicago Library will host "The Big Read" again this spring from April 1-May 17, 2013.
The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) designed to bring reading back to the center of American culture, and the library is one of 78 not-for-profit organizations across the country to receive a grant. The book to be featured this time is "In the Time of the Butterflies" by Julia Alvarez. Programming and book discussion groups will be held on campus and throughout Chicagoland.
The library is looking for on campus partners and volunteers to help with The Big Read. If you are interested in volunteering, involving a class, department or organization with our Big Read, contact Kim Hale, Head of Library Marketing, Outreach and Special Initiatives, at khale@colum.edu or 312-369-7355 for more information.
