Participate in Columbia's Holiday Food Drives

November 27, 2012

Columbia College Chicago is participating in the BOMA Chicago Food Drive this holiday season to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository Holiday Food Drive. The 2012 food drive will run from Monday, November 19, through Friday, December 14.

Additionally, students at WCRX-FM and the Radio Department will host the 10th Annual "Holly Jolly Trolley" on December 6 to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository. They will conduct a live eight-hour broadcast from the trolley parked in from of 33 E. Congress Pkwy that will feature Chicago dignitaries, celebrities, and activists working with those in need.

The collection barrels for the food drive are located at 624 S. Michigan Ave. and 916 S. Wabash Ave. There are paper bags hanging on the side of the barrels that can be filled with any of the following needed items: peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, rice, cereal, chili, soup, tuna, beans, and any other nonperishable items.

The need for food in Chicago is greater than ever, and no amount of food is too small. For more information, please contact Joanne Harding by email or at ext. 7213.
