Stephen Asma (HHSS) was interviewed by Canadian magazine Maclean's about his recently released book, Against Fairness. 

Ron Falzone and Jack Newell's (Film + Video) feature film, Close Quarters, was nominated for six Best of the Midwest Awards presented by the Midwest Independent Film Festival.

Co-authors Pamela Dittmer McKuen (Journalism) and Jackie Walker, wife of Music Department Chair Richard Dunscomb, sold their book, Expressionista: How to Find Your True Self Through (and Despite) Fashion to Simon & Schuster for summer 2013 publication.

Shawn Shiflett (Fiction Writing) was quoted in an article in the Chicago Tribune about National Novel Writing Month, which ends on November 30. 

Andra Velis Simon (Theatre) served as the vocal director for both of The Hypocrites' new holiday presentations, the Pirates of Penzance and The Mikado, which are running through January 13 at the Chopin Theatre. 

Etta Worthington’s (Film + Video) feature-length documentary, 50 at 50, premieres at the Illinois International Film Festival December 1.
