Bargar Pens Post Magazine Article
An article written by Robin Bargar, School of Media Arts Dean at Columbia College Chicago, about new trends in higher education related to supply-side technology and STEM learning recently was published in Post Magazine, an entertainment industry trade focused on post-production professionals.

In the article, Bargar writes about the relationship between new media, science and engineering, and how universities can be ideal partners for the film industry. “Columbia offers students several programs within the School of Media Arts to meet this need, including, Audio Arts and Acoustics, Film and Video, Interactive Arts and Media, Interdisciplinary Arts, Radio and Television, and many more,” he writes.
Bargar goes on to discuss how Columbia College is “addressing new models of production pipelines and distribution channels,” starting with programming apps for mobile apps and games, and how Columbia’s Media Production Center, “featuring two soundstages, a mocap studio, digital labs, animation suites, and more,” is designed to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration.
