Faculty & Staff Convocation Set for August 31

All Columbia College Chicago faculty and staff are encouraged to join in the third annual Faculty and Staff Convocation on Friday, August 31, at Film Row Cinema.

As both a kickoff to the fall 2012 semester and an important information-sharing gathering, the convocation is one of the most important events in the life of the college, and it is requested that all faculty and staff attend; part-time faculty will receive a stipend of $50.

On Friday, August 31, Columbia faculty and staff will convene at Film Row Cinema directly preceding the New Student Convocation. Breakout rooms on the 8th floor and the Conaway Center will be set-up for overflow. The one-hour program begins promptly at 9:30 a.m. A full program for the event will be sent out closer to the date.

At the conclusion of the Faculty and Staff Convocation, participants are encouraged to move to Grant Park to join new freshmen and transfer students at the New Student Convocation, at which time the students will hear from President Carter and the "Hell Yeah Liturgy." This is an excellent opportunity to welcome the Class of 2016 to the college's creative community by showing them, firsthand, the enthusiasm of Columbia's excellent faculty and staff.
