Arts, Entertainment & Media Management Department Name Change Now in Effect
April 4, 2014
Arts, Entertainment and Media Management’s (AEMM) department name will change to Business and Entrepreneurship effective April 7. After much consideration, and a broad consultation of internal and external stakeholders, Columbia has come to the conclusion that this name better represents the department’s extensive program offerings. Additionally, this change will likely increase Columbia graduates’ appeal to potential employers.
The name change will not affect curriculum requirements. However, when registering for Fall 2014, course offerings are listed under "Business and Entrepreneurship" in the course catalog. Summer 2014 classes are still listed under "Arts, Entertainment and Media Management."
Fall 2014 Marketing classes will also be listed in "Business and Entrepreneurship," while Advertising and PR classes are listed under "Advertising & PR," all of which were previously listed under "Marketing Communication."
