Celebrating Columbia's History: Dr. Lya Dym Rosenblum

September 3, 2013

In 1974 Dr. Lya Dym Rosenblum came to Columbia College Chicago as associate academic dean. During her more than 25 years at Columbia, she moved the college steadily toward the future, receiving project grants, bringing the first computers for students on campus, building the Graduate School, and becoming its first dean.

To celebrate all of these accomplishments—and as the starting point for new gifts to endow the Rosenblum and Getz Graduate Awards—an exhibition has been mounted in the Faculty Center. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. September 18. You can also help students and strengthen Dr. Rosenblum's legacy by making a gift online at colum.edu/rosenblum
