Student Course Evaluations Available Nov. 18 – Dec. 9
November 15, 2012
Student Course Evaluations will open on Sunday, November 18. Every student enrolled in your courses receives an email with directions for completing evaluations. Students are instructed to log into OASIS, click the “My Course Evaluations” tab, and then click the link for the course that they want to evaluate.
Students should be encouraged to fill out these evaluations, even if the department requires paper evaluations to be filled out.
Research suggests that the best way to get your students to complete evaluations is to demonstrate that you place a high value on student feedback. Discuss with your students how you have made changes in the past based on student feedback.
Some quick statistics, in Spring 2012:
- 54% of all available evaluations were completed.
- 59% of Columbia students filled out at least one evaluation, with 48% of all students evaluating all of their Spring 2012 courses.
- 58% of evaluations were submitted with written comments.
If students have questions they can be referred to this link:

Evaluations will close on Sunday, December 9.
