All Faculty Can Now Send EASE Notifications
August 29, 2012
Every Advantage for a Successful Education (EASE) is Columbia’s user-friendly, always available, proactive system for notifying student resources when a student is exhibiting social, personal and/or academic problems. The system links a network of student support offices across campus: Counseling Services, Multicultural Affairs, Student Health and Support, College Advising Center, Residence Life, Learning Studio, and Student Financial Services. When follow-up is the right course of action, the EASE coordinator will notify the appropriate student resource team member to reach out and offer students individualized, timely, and caring assistance to help them persist and be successful in their studies.
EASE is a way to provide students facing difficulties with the opportunity to receive assistance before they are at risk of dropping out or falling out of academic compliance. The system also aims to aid faculty with classroom concerns allowing them to focus on teaching. EASE will additionally assist the College by helping to identify the need for additional or different resources in the service of student success.
All faculty members now have access to send EASE notifications through OASIS. If a staff member would like access, they simply need to contact Amanda Johnson, EASE Coordinator, at ajohnson@colum.edu or 312-369-7048. For instructions about how to send an EASE notification, read the Frequently Asked Questions on the EASE website.
