Faculty & Staff Convocation

Warren Chapman, Louise Love, and Mark Kelly encourage all faculty and staff to attend the third annual Faculty and Staff Convocation. As both a kickoff to the semester and an important information-sharing gathering, this is one of the most important events in the life of the college. They strongly encourage the participation of part-time faculty; part-time faculty who attend will receive a stipend of $50.00.

On Friday, August 31st, all of Columbia’s faculty and staff will convene at Film Row Cinema directly preceding the New Student Convocation. Breakout rooms on the 8th floor and the Conaway Center will be set-up for overflow. There will be a one hour program beginning promptly at 9:30am. A full program for the event will be distributed closer to the date.

At the conclusion of the Faculty and Staff Convocation, everyone will go over to Grant Park to join new freshmen and transfer students at the New Student Convocation, at which time the students will hear a welcome from the President and the “Hell Yeah Liturgy.” This will be an excellent opportunity to welcome the Class of 2016 to our creative community by showing them, firsthand, the enthusiasm of our excellent faculty and staff.
