Columbia ID Checks for Summer 2012
May 8, 2012
The Office of Campus Safety and Security is continuing to improve the ability to monitor building activities during semester breaks and during reduced occupancy periods of the summer. To that end, all members of the college community will be required to identify themselves upon entry at your building's respective security desk by providing the security officer with a valid Columbia picture identification card.
If you do not have a valid Columbia ID, please obtain one at the Campus Card office located on the 3rd floor of 600 S. Michigan Ave. This procedure applies to the following time periods:
Summer Semester Breaks – Must show ID Cards
- Monday, May 7, through Saturday, May 29 (must show ID card entire week)
Summer Sessions
- May 29 – August 18, Monday through Friday: ID cards are not required from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Mondays through Fridays: ID cards are required after 6 p.m. until the building closes
- Saturdays and Sundays: ID cards are required throughout the entire weekend
If you do not have a valid Columbia ID card, you will be required to produce a valid picture state drivers license or state identification card, which will be validated with the computerized roster located at each security desk.
