Theatre Department Faculty and Alumna Stephanie Shaw Performs at the EstroGenuis Festival

Theatre Department Senior Lecturer and alumna Stephanie Shaw (BA '92) will be performing two of her original monologues at the EstroGenuis Festival on November 13-14, 2012 at the TBG Arts Center in New York City. Presented by the Manhattan Theatre Source, EstroGenius is one of New York's largest women's arts festivals.

Shaw's If You’re Feeling Blue, Paint Yourself A Different Color! is described as "a funny and potentially offensive personal monologue about the difficulties of sustaining female friendships, the culture of scrap booking and its tangential relationship to a particularly messy sexual act, and the nature of poetry in the suburbs."

Her other piece, Octopus, is described as "growing up with an Italian dad who comes to resemble, in an unusual way, the octopus that fascinates, whether it’s in a National Geographic special, in a dish on the dinner table, or roaming free with many mistresses and a restaurant in Des Plaines, IL.”
