These two companies, presented earlier this year as a part of The Dance Center's 2013-14 Season, are nominated for best choreography for this Chicago Award.

Dance Center Faculty member Lisa Gonzales' work to appear at National College Dance Festival at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC
Faculty member Lisa Gonzales' duet with baited breath was recently selected by the American College Dance Festival to appear in the ACDFA National Festival Celebration June 5-7, 2014 at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Arts in Washington, DC. The work was choreographed on Dance Center student Lindsey Lee and recent graduate Maggie Bouffard.

Dance Center Faculty Member Taisha Paggett performs in the 2014 Whitney Biennial
Guest lecturer to The Dance Center, taisha paggett, a Los Angeles-based artist whose work bridges the fields of visual art and dance, performs a durational work at the 2014 Whitney Biennial.  From April 16–20, her performance will appear during Museum Hours in the Anne & Joel Ehrenkranz Gallery, Museum Lobby at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Philadelphia rapper, breakdancer, choreographer, and producer Raphael Xavier recently visited The Dance Center to premiere his newest work The Unofficial Guide to Audience Watching Performance.  While he was here, he taught, participated in panels, led workshops, and hosted an MC Battle as part of a festival called B-Real: A Look Inside Urban Movements.
