Curious Body EX-Cinema and Documentary Installations
1-5 pm

Cinema Art + Science's Experimental Film Society and Viva Doc student organizations curate a show that highlights media installations that showcase and extend the notion of cinema and television into physical environments and 3-D space.  Work has been chosen that questions the boundaries of the frame, unpacks actualities and social issues, invites you to explore strange moments, learn more about approaching human subjects, reflect on the space where the technology of digital video merges with the role of the audience.  Enter the rooms and explore a variety of displays both grandiose and intimate, single and multiple channel work.

Curious Eye EX-Cinema Screenings
1-4 pm
1104 S. Wabash, Room 504

Cinema Art + Science's Experimental Film Society student organization curate and screen a range of experimental and
documentary work from graduating seniors across the college.  Peculiar Found Footage, Quixotic Self-portraits, Machinama, Dance and Movement Theater Films, and a variety of other films and videos that stretch, push, pull and explode the traditional notions of cinema and television will be shown.

FrameWork Interviews

All day starting at 1 pm

Graduating Cinema Art + Science students reflect on where they started and how far they’ve come in these student produced two-minute shorts. Free popcorn courtesy of CA+S.

Viva Doc Screenings
1-4 pm
1104 S Wabash, Room 502

Cinema Art + Science's Viva Doc student organization curates and screens a range of documentary projects from graduating seniors across the college.  Social Issue Docs, Environmental Docs, Essay Films, and a variety of other films and videos. The documentaries explore subjects and actualities while highlighting the creative authorship of the filmmakers.

Practicum Sneak Peek Screening

1:30-5 pm
Media Production Center, 1600 S. State, Stage One

Catch a sneak peek at the work being done by Cinema Art + Science  Advanced Practicum students in a works-in-progress screening. The Practicum is the capstone experience for most graduating seniors before entering the professional world.

Animation Production Screening
6:30 pm
Film Row Cinema, 1104 S. Wabash, 8th floor

Animation Production Studio and Animation Solo Project are the senior courses of the Animation Program. Students create animated shorts from conceptualization through presentation of the final film. The screening will include preproduction artwork for Vending, followed by the premiere of finished films Locked, Two Heads, Nintendude, Chronic Reach and Bad Magic. View art work at 6:30 pm.  There will be a 7pm screening of all films followed by Q & A.
