WCRX-FM's "Nothing But Net" Shines a Spotlight on Top High School Basketball Coaches

"Nothing But Net," recently
snared an interview with two of the top high school basketball coaches
in the United States, Robert Smith, of Simeon Career Academy Chicago and
Nick Irvin, of Morgan Park High School in Chicago.
Chicago long has been a hotbed of high school basketball talent, and Simeon Career Academy, located at 81st and Vincennes on Chicago's south side, has been at the forefront. From 2009-2013, Simeon won four straight Illinois Class 4A State Championships, and leading the charge is Head Coach Robert Smith, who has coached such established stars as: Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls, Jabari Parker of Duke University, and Kendrick Nunn of the University of Illinois. A mere 10 minutes away from Simeon High School stands another athletic powerhouse, Morgan Park High School. Coached by Nick Irvin, the school has captured back-to-back Class 3A Illinois State Championships, with the most recent one coming on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Irvin has coached many outstanding players, including Wayne Blackshear who helped lead the University of Louisville basketball team to the 2013 NCAA Championship.
