Radio Audio Documentary Students Win National Broadcast Award
Radio students have been awarded First Place in the Broadcast Education
Association's Festival of Media Arts Student Audio Competition. The international competition is a juried blind review, judged by media faculty and professionals across the nation. Winners will be honored at the annual BEA national conference in April of 2014.
The winning entry, entitled I.O.U.: Stories of Student Debt
is an audio documentary produced in Dave Berner's Radio/Audio Documentary class last spring. The capstone group project was also accepted as a selection by Public Radio Exchange (PRX), an online marketplace for distribution, review, and licensing of public radio programming. In 2013, I.O.U.: Stories of Student Debt
, was purchased by public radio outlet, KUT Radio in Austin, Texas.
