CA+S BA candidate Nicholas Olson has been selected to represent Columbia College as the nominee for the Michael Collyer Fellowship in Screenwriting this year. Olson follows in the footsteps of Heather Dunoon (BA 13), who was the overall winner last year.
The purpose of the fellowship is to provide screenwriting students with the opportunity to develop an original screenplay to assist in transitioning into the professional world of screenwriting. Each year, one graduating senior with an interest in, and talent for, screenwriting as a profession will be awarded a $10,000 fellowship to work on a specific project, mentored by a member of the WGAE.
Upon learning of his nomination, Nicholas had this to say: "I was shocked to hear the news. Ecstatic, but shocked. I'm excited to have the opportunity to keep honing this idea for the fellowship, and I'm honored to be Columbia's nominee."
The recipient will be announced in February 2014.
