Writers Honored at Annual Competition

CA+S students and alums were honored at the recent Written Image Awards ceremony that was held for the first time as part of Alumni Weekend festivities on September 27, 2013. Students, alums, faculty, and friends celebrated the hard work of Columbia College’s talented screenwriters.

The evening included memorable speeches and moments and was hosted by writer Jim Hemphill (BA '93, The Trouble With the Truth), Chair of CA+S Bruce Sheridan, and CA+S adjunct faculty member Jeff Smith.

Nine finalists each had a chance to pitch their screenplay to the audience and show off their command of the stage and their craft of storytelling.
