Alum Awarded Best Short Short at Academy-Qualifying Festival
F&V Maria Abraham's (MFA '12) thesis film Girl With Child was awarded Best Short Short at the academy-qualifying 2013 Aspen Shortsfest.

Abraham made the film while on a Fulbright Scholarship in Ecuador. Part of her Fulbright work was teaching recovering victims of human trafficking. She hopes to return to Ecuador to produce & direct the feature length film based on the same characters in the short film.
