Since obtaining a position at WLS, 94.7 FM two years ago, Matt Donahue
(B.A. '11) continues to move up in the company, as he has now been
promoted to Programming Assistant at the station.
In his new position Matt will be focused on studying/programming WLS-FM logs, analyzing data, ratings, and charts for play on WLS and Cumulus CHR/AC stations, and assisting the SVP of Programming.
According to Matt, "This position came about through consistent presence, persistence and performance. After restructuring within the company, I was moved from Production Assistant to Producer, in which I ran multiple shows and trained other producers. I had expressed interest in continuing my climb within the company and the Program Director was so impressed with my work, that he created a place for me."
Matt cites his experience as a Student Music Director at WCRX-FM along with his Radio Programming course and several internships at stations throughout Chicago as keys to his success. "I never would have been able to obtain a position like this if it wasn't for all that I learned at Columbia College Chicago as a radio major."
Matt will continue in his role as Executive Producer for "The Fred Winston Show," as well as being an on-air talent weekends at WLUM-FM 102.1 in Milwaukee.
