2013 NABJ Scholarship Now Available

The Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists is
offering a $1,000 scholarship opportunity. Requirements include:
students must be attending a Chicago-area university/college, must be
majoring in Journalism (radio, television or print), and be maintaining
a 3.0 GPA.
Deadline is March 30, 2013.
NABJ is an organization of journalists, students and media-related
professionals that provides quality programs and services to and
advocates on behalf of black journalists worldwide.
Students need to forward official academic transcript; two professional work samples; and a 750-word personal essay to NABJ Scholarship Chair Maudlyne Ihejirika, at mihejirika@suntimes.com
NABJ 2013 Scholarship Essay Topic:
"Media companies are seeking journalistic innovators, people who can bring cutting-edge ideas to help print, digital and broadcast mediums figure out what media audiences want and need. Propose a pioneering journalism project, explaining how it would solve real-world problems facing the journalism industry, and where you see yourself and the industry in 10 years."
