November 2012: “The Suburbs” by Rudy Lorejo
Throughout my life, I’ve always loved finding out what makes a person or a place special. What pieces created the whole? As a kid, I was always curious as to why people are all different; what causes a personality? As I grew up, I realized that there could be much more than what’s on the surface, whether it be a person, an object, or a place.
The locations in these images are pieces of me. These places are where I grew up. I’ve chosen to portray them in the same fashion as I see them: a memory. Memories are beautiful and sometimes idealized. How these places affected my upbringing is up for you to decide.
