Get ready for the 10th WCRX “Holly Jolly Trolley” Food Drive!

WCRX-FM and the Radio Department host the 10th annual Holiday Food Drive for the Greater Chicago Food Depository Thursday, December 6th from 9am until 5pm.  WCRX will broadcast live from the lobby of 33 East Congress. Local dignitaries, radio, television and entertainment artists are already scheduled for this all-day event.

Get in the holiday mood –Hum along to your favorite holiday tunes, performed by local vocalists and bands.  Do some early holiday shopping by taking a spin on the WCRX Wheel of Fun and win a cool prize or bid on one of the exciting gifts in our Holiday Auction.

In a hurry? You can make a donation or drop off a canned good on your way to class or work and even during your lunch hour.  Just drop by the WCRX “Holly Jolly” Trolley car on the southwest corner of Congress and Wabash.  Look for the holiday decorated trolley car, parked in front of Columbia College Chicago’s 33 East Congress building.  WCRX staffers will be on hand to offer you a cup of coffee and take your generous donation at curbside or in the lobby of the 33 East Congress building.

The Greater Chicago Food Depository-Chicago’s food bank is a not-for-profit food distribution center that distributes donated and purchased food through qualified agencies such as soup kitchens, shelters and pantries. The Food Depository distributes donated and purchased food through a network of 600 pantries, soup kitchens and shelters. Help strike out hunger! During the past ten years, WCRX has collected over 3,500 pounds of food.  Along with the food that was collected, the station has raised almost $40,000.  Our collective efforts have provided meals for many Chicago families during the holidays. Won’t you please help!  Help us fill the WCRX “Holly Jolly” trolley car with boxes of food and make this year’s holiday extra special for a needy family.   Help us strike out hunger in Chicago!
