50 AT 50
F&V adjunct faculty member Etta Worthington’s feature-length documentary, 50 at 50, premieres at the Illinois International Film Festival on Saturday, December 1 at 9 am at the Viaduct Theatre, 3111 N. Western, Chicago.
Plagued by memories of her 40th year in which she plummeted from confidence to despair, 50 at 50 is a personal documentary about Worthington's choice to make 50 positive memories by tackling 50 new things in her 50th year. These are not things she always wanted to do or that she thinks she must do before she dies, they were just things she has never done before.
50 at 50 is the documentation of that journey, and of her post year reflections and discoveries. Starting out as a documentary about vitality and about getting out of a rut, 50 at 50 becomes more an entertaining exploration into change and facing fear, and the start of a new life.
Film & Video faculty members involved in this project include Bryan McHenry, graphics and animation, and Sharon Zurek, editing.
