Mike Hansen Promoted to Program Director at KQWB-FM in Fargo, North Dakota
(L-R) Mike Hansen and Munky from the band Korn.
Since arriving at KQWB-FM (Q98) in Fargo, ND in 2010, Radio Department
graduate Mike Hansen (B.A. '06), has been hosting mid-days and doubling
as Assistant Program Director for the station. His hard work and dedication paid off, as he's been named Program Director at Q98.
Here's what Mike had to say about the new position: "I am so excited about being named Program Director of Q98 Rocks because after all the struggles one must face early on in their radio career...today is proof that if you stick with it, you can do it from the ground up. To think that now I run a 100,000 watt rock station is just simply amazing to me!" Mike credited his education at Columbia with giving him the tools to walk into a station and get noticed and from there he built his career working in the field. Mike's advice is to "move, move, move!" Since graduating in 2006, Mike has consistently worked in the industry, including being an on-air personality in Kenosha, WI, Waterloo, IA and La Crosse, WI.
