Where in the Country Are We Screening?

F&V faculty Ron Fleischer’s short A Tooth Tale screened at the New Orleans Film Festival (October 13) and Austin Film Festival (October 20). Upcoming screenings include: California Independent Film Festival (November 11), and the 60th Columbus International Film + Video Festival (November 17, Honorable Mention Award).

F&V faculty Vaun Monroe’s Chicago Blues is an official selection of the Urban Mediamaker Film Festival. Founded in November 2001, the mission of the Urban Mediamakers is to promote and support a diverse independent media arts community in the Southeast and worldwide showcasing international independent films.

F&V adjunct faculty John Mossman’s Into the Wake returned to the Gene Siskel Center on Monday, October 29. Mossman recently won the best director award at the Naperville International Film Fest and is appearing in the play In Pigeon House at the Den Theater through November 18, 2012.

F&V adjunct faculty Sandeep Sharma’s newest short film A Billion and Counting screened on October 17 at the Chicago Cultural Center in the program From Chicago to Lahore: A Cultural Nexus. An evening of visual, media and performance arts celebrating the cultural vibrancy of the sister cities of Chicago and Lahore through artistic expression. Free admission.

F&V adjunct faculty Frank Rinaldi's feature film Sundowning made its Chicago debut at the University of Chicago Doc Films Series on Sunday, October 14 at 8:30 pm followed by a Q&A. The theatrical premiere was in August at Anthology Film Archives in New York. The film has been playing art houses, universities and alternative venues across the country.

F&V alum A.J. Sheeran (BA ‘11) short film The Treehouse was selected to screen in the Student Shorts Competition at the Austin Film Festival in Austin, Texas October 18-25. It screened as part of Shorts Program 7: A Glimpse into Another World.
