Join the Education Department for the 2012 ‘Arts Alive’ Event on July 20
On July 20, join other arts educators and those interested in promoting and improving arts education in Illinois. The theme of 2012 “Arts Alive” is “Connecting through the Arts," and the institute will provide diverse offerings that pertain to the arts and technology, visual arts, dance, music, museum resources, arts advocacy, the arts and the community, arts integration, and the arts and special needs students/programs.
In addition to multiple break-out sessions, there will be a keynote presentation, "Transforming Arts Education," by Mario Rossero, Director of Arts, Chicago Public Schools. Rossero has worked with the arts and curriculum and instruction in CPS, and he is also an adjunct faculty member at Columbia College Chicago. He is a practicing artist and is involved with building community garden installations.
