Congratulations to Ryan Cranfill and Kevin Quinn for winning a prestigious 2012 Robert Bradford Newman Student Medal for Merit in Architectural Acoustics!  This prize, awarded by the Acoustical Society of America, honors outstanding students at schools of architecture and architectural engineering throughout the world who demonstrate excellence in this discipline and in the application of acoustical design principles in the course of their study. 

Ryan's project, titled "Implementation of the User Interface for the Real-World Transmission Loss Room," utilized his extensive programming skills to automate several of the tests in Audio Arts + Acoustics' Real-World Transmission Loss chamber.  

Kevin's award winning work was titled "Acoustical Consultation for a Proposed Black Box Theater," exploring acoustical design possibilities for the Getz theater in Chicago.

Ryan and Kevin join a select group of students from throughout the world who, since 1986, have been recognized for their achievements with the Robert Bradford Newman Student Medal for Merit in Architectural Acoustics.  They are the first Columbia College Chicago students to receive this award.
