Parent Weekend at Manifest

Columbia College Chicago is excited to invite you to attend one of our upcoming Parent Weekend at Manifest!

Parent Weekend at Manifest is our third installment of the mini Parent Weekends of the 2012-2013 academic year. Whether or not your student is graduating this year, Manifest is a glimpse into our students’ collective future. It's an annual tradition and a culminating experience for the students, faculty, and staff at Columbia College Chicago. It only makes sense that it serve as such for you too. It's also fun, and a chance for you to share in your student's Columbia experience.

Manifest isn’t just one event, it’s a collection of concerts, shows, screenings, exhibitions, and... well, a whole lotta stuff to look, dance to, and participate in. There will be over 70 events happening on campus for you and your student to enjoy and explore. The schedule of events is listed at colum.edu/manifest, with new events added daily!

Below are some events programmed just for parents and special highlight events not to be missed. Please note that although there is no charge to attend the Parent Highlight Weekends,but we are asking you to RSVP for select receptions.

Continental Breakfast: If you are a parent or family member of a student who lives in our residence halls, join the Residence Life staff and students for breakfast before heading into the streets to explore the spectacle and buzz of Manifest.

Champagne Toast and Parent Reception: Join the Vice President of Student Affairs, Mark Kelly, for a champagne toast, honoring parents and families of Columbia students with a special dedication to graduating students and their parents and families.

Location: Manifest Alumni Lounge at the Quincy Wong Center for Artistic Expression | 623 S. Wabash Ave.

The Great Convergence: The Convergence, a magical Columbia created concoction of spectacle, ritual, music, theater, and dance, will re-ignite your imagination, spark your spirit, and remind you of the power and beauty of our remarkable community! Prepare to be touched and taken away by the talent of our students. It is a performance that reveals the collective power of our students and faculty and highlights Columbia’s signature brand of school spirit.

Departmental Receptions: Each academic department produces a showcase of graduating student work. This is a great opportunity for your student to see and experience the work of their peers. From 5-7pm, all galleries will be activated for the departmental receptions, including light horderves and mingling with students, faculty and staff.

MainStage: Join the Columbia community under the Big Top Tent at the Mainstage for performances from student bands and Chance the Rapper and Now Now.
