Only a few seats left! - Fiction Writing: “Story Workshop” The
Fiction Writing department invites you to join full-time faculty member
and, head biographer of Ray Bradbury, Sam Weller, for a 3-hour Story
Workshop. All participants will leave with ideas in mind, techniques in
play, and writing in hand.
SOLD OUT - NEW START TIME: 1:30PM - Television: “Columbia in 30 Seconds” In
this workshop, participants will be part of the pre-production,
production, or post production of a 30-second “commercial” on Columbia
College and/or the Columbia Alumni Association and Network (CAAN.) Work
in the television department, and leave with your own CD of the finish
product.
SOLD OUT -“Book Arts Tour and Papermaking” You'll
get wet, so dress accordingly! The Center for Book & Paper Arts is
home to what many say is the best book arts facility in the United
States. Participants will get a private tour of the Center's three
studios – print shop, bindery, and papermaking – and learn to make
their own sheet of paper by hand. The Book and Paper MFA is offered by
The Interdisciplinary Arts department of Columbia College Chicago.
SOLD OUT - Radio: “Make a Really Great Voiceover!”The
Radio department will lead this introduction to the skills and
techniques used in interpreting and presenting commercial and narrative
copy for radio and television advertising, as well as scripts used in
corporate training and industrial narration. Work in a studio
classroom, receive individual critiques, and go home with a recorded
copy of your very own voiceover
Alumni Reunion Bash NEW LOCATION7:00PM – midnight | Nacional 27 | 325 W. HuronWe're spicing things for the Reunion Closing Bash! The party has moved from campus to Nacional 27, a swanky restaurant and club with a Central and South American theme.
