We recently posted a news story announcing our alumni nominees in the current awards season. We have some winners to report!

Congratulations to the following alumni:

Paul Garnes (BA ’96) won an NAACP Image Award for the show The Game. Paul is the line producer for the show, which won for Outstanding Comedy Series. Paul is also the producer for Middle of Nowhere, which received four Independent Spirit Award Nominations: Best Supporting Female, Best Female Lead, Best Supporting Male, and the esteemed John Cassavetes Award (given to the best feature made for under $500,000,) for which Paul is specifically nominated as Producer.

Everett Downing, Jr. ('00) and Aaron J. Hartline ('98) were both animators on the film Brave, which recently won the Golden Globe for Best Animated Film. Brave is also nominated for an Oscar in the same category.

Len Amato (BA ’75) President of HBO Films, oversaw the film Game Change, which won the Golden Globe for Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. Game Change also took Best Supporting Actor (Ed Harris) and Best Actress (Julianne Moore.)

Best of luck this weekend to our alumni who are nominated for ASC Awards, which will take place this Sunday, February 10.

Michael Goi, ASC (BA ’80) for FX’s American Horror Story: Asylum (“I am Anne Frank: Part 2”) Television Movie/Miniseries. Michael is also nominated for NBC’s The New Normal (Pilot) half-hour Episodic Series.

Janusz Kaminski (BA ’87) picked up his fifth nomination for his work on Steven Spielberg's historical epic Lincoln. This is Kaminski’s fifth ASC nomination after Spielberg's Schindler’s List, Amistad, and Saving Private Ryan, as well as Julian Schnabel's The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. He won Oscars for Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan. Janusz also has an Oscar nomination for Best Achievement in Cinematography for Lincoln.
