The Written Image Screenwriting Prize is designed to foster the development and recognition of "new screenwriters," specifically alumni of Columbia College Chicago who majored in Film or current students with a declared major in Film & Video - writers who are at the threshold of a professional career. Come see which alumni will win this year! Special alumni guest, writer & director, and 2013 Alumni Film Contest Feature Winner, Jim Hemphill (BA '93) will be in attendance as a judge for the student competition. Come join us at the 3rd Annual Alumni 5K Scholarship FUNd Run/Walk! Denver Chapter Leader, Pat Blum (BA '84) will lead a run/walk from Columbia's campus to the Museum Campus and back. Get your very own Columbia t-shirt, free refreshments to keep you energized, and take a group photo! Shirts will be available for pick up before the run. Sit in on the rehearsal of HAIRSPRAY

The Theater Department is opening their rehearsal for their main stage musical HAIRSPRAY to all alumni and their guests followed by Dale Calandra, one of our adjunct faculty members who played Edna on the Broadway National Tour will share his experiences with the show. There will also be a dramaturgical presentation and, of course, an introduction of alumni.

'Personal branding' for an artist is like painting a picture or composing a song--it requires you to select just the right colors or notes that will best differentiate your personal 'brand' and art from others.

In this workshop, we'll go beyond the artist statement to create your authentic and individual personal brand masterpiece. Kate Mulcahy is principal of Brand New Discovery, Inc. a consulting firm that provides a strategic and creative experience for business leaders, entrepreneurs, and forward-thinking individuals who want to fully optimize or refocus their lives.

Alumni Weekend Closing Party at the MPC

All good things eventually have to come to an end.  After a weekend of great activities, it's time to party on the rooftop!  There will be a DJ that will make you cut loose.  Enjoy beverages, hors d'oeuvres and great conversation under the stars.  Don't be tardy for this closing party!  Must be 21 or older to consume alcoholic beverages.
