We honored two Speakers of the Year and our Student of the Year at the 2012 Semester in LA Awards. The Speakers of the Year are both alumni and have been great to Semester in LA - they’re part of our community, they’re homegrown, and they’ve had major success! Honored were:

• Steve Pink (’89) produced Knight and Day, directed Hot Tub Time Machine.
• Navid McIlhargey (MFA ’00) has made several films, the coolest being RocknRolla. His favorite movie is Hot Tub Time Machine – which he wishes he made.
• Our Student of the Year is Whitney Fox (BA ’11 - Television) who is the Script Coordinator for the Nickelodeon Animation Studios show called Robot and Monster.
